Julia Thorne Blackwolf.

I love you two a lot, okay, now go off and have happy birthdays and all. I'll talk to you two as soon as I get the chance, but knowing things, if nothing happens out of it, I'll just pen Laura a long letter.

It's been awhile since I've last seen you, I know.

The Alleged Writer

I wrote a total of 2,239 fictive words today in the course of the last two hours, something that I expected would have drained me to the core, yet instead had provided me with enough endorphins to go to sleep now! Wow.

This is the most I've ever written at once. I think I might even be able to sustain this... give it some time.

Please, oh please, don't let this fall into disrepair.

I'm finally ready to work on a book again.

No plot hints, though, readers. I don't want to excite and I don't want to disappoint. I will, however leave you with one tiny clue. The title references this Soviet film.

At Home Among Strangers, a Stranger Among His Own

This is one I'd like to see, though, even though there are no similarities between my current work and Mikhalkov's film at all, except for a slightly similar title.

CD P/review: Kind of girl - Lonely In A Modern Way

I've been a big fan of Kind of girl, a Danish band fronted by Sissel O, and I've been watching their progress quite steadily since mid-2007. This indie pop troupe has four songs on their streaming playlist: Slave To Your Charms, Poetry Boy, Watch In Wonder, and Someone You Replaced. Two of those songs, Slave To Your Charms and Poetry Boy, were previously available as free downloads on Last.fm and now are gearing up for their (somewhat delayed) summer release in the form of first album Lonely In A Modern Way.

Sissel's vocals give all their songs a unique sound - it makes her voice instantly recognizable in the music. Claiming to be "bass-heavy synthpop doused in the sweet sweet addictive vocals of lead singer Sissel", I can't disagree. Their songs are cheerful - the ones like lead single Slave To Your Charms, and have a fun sort of feel to it. And I've been listening to newer tracks like Someone You Replaced - a more mellow, mature ballad that just has me falling in love.

Their Myspace claims an August 11 digital album release, but we're looking at delays, so they'll probably have it out in Denmark out first. They add to the list of Scandinavian bands I completely love, along with The Cardigans, Poets of the Fall, Swan Lee and The Sounds.

This is one album I'll be seriously looking at getting, but if I had the money I'd want to get the solo album by Jymm Thomas (of Darling Violetta), That Sudden Stop. I've been seriously wanting that since the limited release on CDbaby.com. I bought all three Darling Violetta albums about three years ago, and still regularly spin them up on my playlist. A Traditional Breakfast

I'm a traditional person after all, you know. I like having a traditional breakfast as much as the next person: eggs, sausages, a glass of orange juice or hot Milo. Eat it whilst browsing the pages of today's newspaper, or maybe while sitting at the dining table.

Or not.

Well, Iiberties are taken today. I've just sent Roslyn off to her class today, and on the way back I felt my grumbling and rather unhappy stomache tell me off in that peculiar manner most of your organs do at 7am; so I made my way to the McDonald's drive-through nearby and made an order of Sausage McMuffin.

And here I am at home - I do have a cup of hot Milo, but instead of browsing today's paper, I'm browsing today's blogs, catching up with podcasts, and being considerably more tech-savvy than your standard newspaper.

Mmmm.... McMuffin.

Car expires today. Shame, really. But at least I'm still alive right?

Someone Turns 20

Andrian "Andy" Ravin, most famous for his role as co-emcee for Talentime Night 2008, turns 20 today yesterday, amidst his usual amounts of self-emoism. Andy was said to have been walking along the roads of Setapak by himself to commemorate the anniversary of his birth.

Andy is known to have feelings, something regularly referenced in his blog, and is currently a repeat student in TAR College's Diploma in Broadcast Communication. He currently lives in Taman Bunga Raya. He has only been robbed, mugged or attacked four times.

At Last, VICTORY!

Word-Text-Communications has claimed its rightful place as #1 on the Google Search for "Amirul", confirming my place as the most famous Amirul IN ALL THE UNIVERSE (or Cyberverse, at least).

If you've been following this blog for a long time, you'll know that I actually already was the Most Famous Amirul before, but I slipped down the charts sometime in 2007, and had to live with being #4, then #8, then OFF THE PAGE. My old blog had replaced me, in those dark days. But now, karma strikes, and all you pretenders can just bow down to me, alright? Thank you.

I have defeated:

Amirul, the contestant on popular Malaysian reality TV show Akademi Fantasia;

Amirul, some preteen kid who owns http://www.amirul.com - who has my eternal hatred, for purchasing the rights to that before I did;

Amirul Rajiv, a Bangladeshi photographer;

National weightlifter Amirul Hamzan;

and more.

Oh, and I also killed off the alternate self of Amirul B Ruslan: who had lived three years on Blogdrive before switching to Vox.
